Firstly I started this post as a comment on Lou’s page and I didn’t want it to take over her page so I decided to finish the comment here. The topic of NY came up because I’ve just booked it for January (Yeah I know, haven’t even been away to Prague yet and the next holiday already booked) Thanks to Gary, Mary Lee, Kate & Jim who all told me what to expect weatherwise in New York in January
I will definitely be bringing warm clothes and if I don’t bring enough I guess I’ll just have to shop over there! The last time I was in NYC was March ‘06. When we got there, there was still snow on the ground (I don’t think the sun could reach that side of the street!) . It stayed really cold for a couple of days but then (luckily enough) the day we went took the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island it turned warm (It went to over 10 degrees and I’m not kidding people were going around in T-shirts, I don’t think they could believe their luck!!!)
I just noticed on Lou’s page that I didn’t say where else we could be staying instead of the middle of Times Square. The other hotel that we’re looking at is right beside Ground Zero. Actually I just thought of something is it still being called Ground Zero or are more and more people referring to it as the WTC site? I have no idea!
Anyhoo back to Dublin. I am sitting at my desk in work with my Starbucks’s Americano writing this and attempting the Irish times crossword (Only the Simplex – the caffeine hasn’t kicked in as yet!) Monday and Tuesday are very busy for me because of all the new starters we are now getting weekly. I just know that today is going to be a quiet day for me. That’s not exactly a good thing when you can just see the hours until home stretching out in front of you and its a looong time from 08:45 to 16:00 when you’ve got very little to do. At least I remembered my Ipod today
