FRIDAY (AT LAST!)

Firstly I’d like to with Lou all the best in her driving test today!  YAY!  Friday’s finally here!!! Just 3 more days and I’ll be sitting in Dublin Airport waiting for the flight to JFK to be called. I was going to say I never thought Friday would get here. In a way that is how I feel but on the other hand this week has been one of the quickest (work wise) in a loooong time :) I’ve actually been busy, learning new things and getting ready for the trip to Sofia

So I think it’ll be a couple of weeks before I write anything, I don’t think I’ll be writing over the weekend as I’ll more than likely be flying around like a blue a*sed fly LOL! After that it depends on what connectivity is like in Sofia and I still haven’t decided if I want to bring my laptop with me to NYC!

Enjoy the start of the new season of Lost (if you’re a fan – just a week to go YAY!)

Hope you all have a very happy Friday and a lovely weekend

Lazy Sunday…

… Is what I hope to have today. I done more than enough housework yesterday so today is about vegging :) Although I wouldn’t object if we were to go out for Sunday lunch! Sure we’ll see what the day brings

So I’m getting really excited about NYC, just over 8 days to go. I really can’t wait for it (But I’m sure you could already tell) I’ve already been given lists of things that people want us to bring back (Ess I haven’t forgotten the gobstoppers) I pretty much have planned what clothes etc I want to bring with me. I really need to be this organised because the day after we get back from NYC I’m going to Sofia, Bulgaria for just over a week with work. I didn’t mention it before on this because it wasn’t actually for definite but as of last Friday it is. I’m going to be delivering systems & processes training to new starters. I was terrified that I was going to have huge classes with some mental and unmanageable number, but (thankfully) that’s not the case.

Anyhoo I hope you all have a lovely and lazy Sunday. I’ll leave you with a new photo of Toby :)

Stress relief (perhaps?)

I’ve had this ages and it still makes me giggle! Give it a go in the manic mode :)

Its still dark and windy outside which makes me feel like I’m in work in the middle of the night LOL! I’m sitting here with my lovely steaming hot coffee (Starbucks Americano) catching up on emails etc. The building in particular is very VERY quiet at this moment in time as there’s almost no one around as yet but it’ll be alive soon enough.

Anyhoo, hope you all have a good Thursday.

???

Last week I told someone that I was going to try to keep this up and write something every day even if it was just my song of the day, the one that gets stuck in my head in the morning and won’t leave, it makes me want to sing out loud, which I would do if no one could hear me :o ) 2 things happened, work got busy (shock! Horror!) and I couldn’t think of anything to actually write down.

So as I said work is actually busy at the mo! Its not with my usual job, I am doing extra at the moment to get ready for my trip next month – me writing and delivering training, I’m terrified I’m going to be crap!

Monday, Monday

So here we are again, the start of another week! Already I can’t believe it’s the 7th of January but there you go, the days are passing in a blur. Please ignore me if I complain that the 28th isn’t coming around quick enough Yesterday I said work was going to be back to normal and it is today, with a bang! In December we were only getting 2 or 3 new starters a week, today there are 12!!! Ah well it’ll keep us busy and out of trouble LOL

On Saturday I mentioned the blankets that S brought back from India, here are the photos

Happy Monday – If there is such a thing! Actually I think there is, on days when my holidays start :-)

Bye Xmas

We took down the Xmas decorations today and now the house looks bare :( So thats it now for another year, all the fun is over and will be back to work normal tomorrow (I know I’ve already been in for a couple of days but I have to admit I’ve have to do f*ck all the past few days I’ve been there, normal service will definitely resume tomorrow)

For now though, I’ve just had lunch (Toasted brown bread with butter and strawberry jam and a huge mug of steaming tea) and am back on the couch with my lovely cover over me. My laptop is on my knees and Toby is on my feet making them lovely and warm. S is on the other couch asleep. He’s not long back in after cleaning out the rabbits and I think he is getting my chest infection :-( My fingers are getting cold from typing so on this note I’ll leave you to whatever you’re doing this dreary Sunday

Song of the day: Stellarsound & Paula Flynn – Let’s dance (Its the song from one of the ads for water, can’t remember which one)

Quick hello

I am being disgustingly lazy today. I don’t care that its very grey outside at the moment. I am lying on my couch under a beautifully hand stitched blanked that Sean brought me back from India. Its kinda got masculine colours but has lots of pretty little mirrors on it. I’m not very good at describing it so someday soon I’ll post a pic so you can all admire it!

I did follow time traveller’s advice (Drinking plenty of orange juice and water - I guess tea counts I can’t count how many cups I’ve drank today) but I went to the doctor yesterday after work because I really need this to be completely gone soon and I really don’t want it to recur when I am in NY. The day after I get back from NY, I’ll more than likely have to be on a plane again. More on that to follow when I have all the details (Eek!)

Whatever you’re up to today, enjoy it and the rest of the weekend

January 4th 2008

Good morning all! No Starbucks Americano for me this morning. The espresso machine is broken. What a crappy start! The filtered version just isn’t as good!

Did you see Noel Edmond’s Christmas Presents show over Christmas? I seen a little bit of it, I thought it was all googiley (cute, sweet, etc) My mum had a bit of a googiley moment yesterday which reminded me of the show… Her best friend from London (She hasn’t seen her in over 25 years or been in touch with her since she lost her address around 20 years ago) sent her a letter yesterday. Her friend was cleaning out her house and came across an old address book which had my nanna’s address in it and taking a chance she sent mum a letter. It really made her day, actually never mind it making her day, I think it’s made her year :-) Mum was hoping that work wouldn’t be too busy last night so she could write a reply. Where the hell would you start when you have over 20 years of gossip, news etc to share?I’m just thinking that not many people write letters to each other these days. What do you think? I mean when my cousins lived in London I used to send them letters regularly and , I used to write letters to my great aunts (My grandparents I mean not that they’re not great) when I was younger too. Now it’s changed all text messages, E-mails, Bebo, and Facebook etc Don’t I sound ancient when I say that? It’s true though, I really don’t know anyone who sends letters!!! (Bank statements, bills don’t count!!) I have a bit of a chest infection and will be taking a trip to my doctor after work today. I thought I could shift it without an antibiotic.  Benylin 4 flu and steaming it doesn’t seem to be working so a trip to the doctor it is because I really want this to be gone ASAP. However, if anyone has any better ideas, let me know :-) I didn’t get up to much last night to be honest! I watched the launch of big brother celebrity hijack. Did anyone else watch it? I thought it was HILARIOUS! Matt Lucas was brilliant. I was cringing the poor fecker who got landed with the task of doing and saying everything that Matt told him to.

Some things I’m liking a lot right now

- My new Nikon D40 digital SLR

- Looking at websites about New York (I’m obsessed, I know but I can’t help it!)

- Grey’s Anatomy Season 4 – I know its not being shown here yet but YAY for downloads :-)

- Ugly Betty Season 2

- The purty sunrise this morning

- Amy Winehouse – Valerie

- The quiet time in work

- John Lennon – Imagine

- That today is Friday

Well that it from me, hope you all have a great day whatever happens :-)
